Red opened his first car dealership in 1953. Today the automotive group is the largest in San Antonio with 10 dealerships, 2 collision repair centers, an off-road and performance custom garage, 478 service bays, and over 1,000 hardworking men and women in sales, service, and customer support

Red McCombs History
Red McCombs is Texas history. Known for bringing the SPURS to San Antonio, generously giving to the University of Texas, helping create Hemisfair Park and the Tower of the Americas, Red has left a lasting legacy on our state. Red loved Texas and used to brag "I plead guilty to being a Texan."
Red McCombs Charitable Giving
Red and Charline McCombs believed in helping Texas grow and Texans flourish. Through the McCombs Foundation they have donated over $175 million to San Antonio and Texas schools, research institutions and non-profits that support community growth. Red McCombs' Award-Winning Superbowl TV Commercials
At the spry age of 91 ½ Red McCombs added to his fame by wining a TELLY AWARD for his Driven To Serve television commercial.
Since 2009 Red McCombs has launched a new TV Commercial during the Super Bowl. The Driven To Serve TV campaign has been awarded 5 Telly trophies since its inception because it demonstrated, with humor, the extremes to which Red McCombs employees go to serve their customers.
